Rev. Matthew Bowden was born in Aiken, South Carolina on May 11, 1981, and grew up in Laurens County, Georgia. He was licensed in 2001 and ordained into the ministry in 2007 by Dudley Baptist Church in Dudley, Georgia. He Began his ministry at Mt. Calvary in 2018.
Rev. Bowden has been married to his precious wife Ashley since 2004. They have two sons, Ashton (2010) and Aiden (2012), who are the joy of their home. Ashley has a love for children and serves the Lord by ministering to preschoolers and young children. The Bowdens have a wonderful family and use their lives of service as an example to all they meet.
Rev. Bowden holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from The College at Southeastern and a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has a great desire to make the name of Jesus famous in as many avenues as possible.
It is his passion to see radical life change come to all who are struggling with the daily issues of life. He has a heart for missions and it is his passion to see every Christian participate in missions and evangelism through the local church. His ministry objective is that God has called him to minster to the body of believers and to evangelize the world wherever the Lord sends. He has a passion to see unbelievers come to Christ, so that they can walk in a close and personal relationship with King Jesus.
Rev. Bowden’s hobbies include singing, playing guitar, photography, kayaking, fishing, snow skiing, camping, and most of all spending time with his family. Rev. Bowden and his family love the South, southern cooking, and the outdoors.
